创建于1956年,是经教育部审批备案,由湖南省教育厅主管的公办全日制高职院校,是一所培养现代高级数控加工、模具设计与制造、生产经营管理的高职大专品牌院校。经过五十多年的发展,已成为具有多功能办学能力的教育基地,教学设备完善,教学手段先进,是联系高校与产业的桥梁和纽带。
