And maybe he might go directlyto US Passport Officeand pay extra to get a passport just in time. 　　I strongly recommend that the man should stay home finishing his paper in French for two reasons. First of all, writing a paper in French is not that difficult for the man, since he could go to the library on campus to get as much information as possible including history, geographic features, populations and so on, in both photos and articles a even materials. Besides, going directly to the US Passport Office for a passport in a hurry costs just way too much. The man could save the money for some more important projects not just one single language practice weekend trip. So, I think the man should go with the first solution. (204 words) 　　TPO 33 时间冲突 　　场景：男学生无法帮助女学生cover shift in the dining hall 　　Well, the man's got a problem that he has a musical rehearsal in his band buthe promised the woman tocover her shift in the dining hallat the same time. 　　Accordingly, there're two solutions for the man's problem: first the woman could cancel her plan andgo to the night shift by herself, or the man could talk to the band leaderto take a leave for covering the woman's shift. 　　Well, I guess, the man should go to his rehearsal and let the woman go to her night shift for two main reasons. 　　Firstly, it's the man's last chance to practice his new songs. If he misses it, he will probably sound bad in the performance and that will negatively affect the team play. 　　Second, I think the woman should understand the man. After all,there will be another playon some other time and the man's work must come first. So I believe the man should choose the first solution. (164 words) 　　TPO27 时间冲突 　　场景：教授教授诗歌的课程表和哥哥的退休庆祝会冲突 　　Well,the woman's had a problem with her schedule.Actually,her poetry classconflicts withher cousin's retirement party. （背诵 A conflict with B ）There are two solutions for the woman's problem: she could let the man cover her class andlead the review session, or she could arrive late for the party after finishing her poetry class. 　　Well, I guess the second solution is a better one for some reasons. 　　First, it'll beirresponsiblefor the woman to leave her students behind and go to a party. So I think the man should ride to hiswork after class. (150words) 　　TPO 20 时间冲突 　　场景：教授下个学期到法国教书，学生缺少指导完成老鼠研究。 　　Well the woman's problem is that she's been working on a project and she needs a lot of help from her professor（先描述背景信息、场景信息然后转折介绍问题）but her professor will be away for a semester. There are two solutions for the woman's situation: first she could change a professor to work with or she could still work with her professor and receive long-distance advice. 　　I guess the second solution is a better one for some reasons. 　　First of all, it is unwise to change a professor when in the middle of the project, no matter how famous the new professor is. It could always take a whole lot of time for the new professor to get familiar with the woman's project, so it'll be definitely a pretty waste of time. 　　The second reason is that, receiving long-distance help from the professor wouldn't make any difference with the convenience of Internet communication tool such as e-mails, Snapchat and stuff like that. And I bet it could even improve the efficiency of her project as long as the woman couldhandle the time lagwell. So I think the second solution would be better. (188 words) ( 背诵 ) 　　TPO 19 时间冲突 　　场景：学生被安排实习教学的教课时间与*中文历史课冲突 　　Well, the woman's problem is that she's got a scheng problem because the day she's been assigned to teach at the school in town, meets her Chinese History course at the university. Accordingly there are two solutions for her problem :she could reschedule her Chinese History course to another semesteror she could change her teaching assignment to a different day. 　　Well, I suggest that the woman should change her teaching assignment to a different day for two reasons. 　　First, she might not be able to take the Chinese History class in some other semester since the professor is a visiting professor who usually won't stay in the university for too long, no longer than one semester I guess. 　　Secondly, even if the woman changes her teaching assignment she willstillhave to teach kids of different age groups andthat'll be a great chance for her to practice handling kids of different ages. So I believe the woman should change her teaching assignment. (164 words) 　　二、作业问题 　　TPO22 作业问题 　　场景：论文作业被咖啡弄湿了 　　The woman's problem is that she spilt some soup on her paper but the class starts in fifteen minutes. Accordingly, there are two solutions for her problem: she coold just explain to her professor what happened and hand the paper in or she could go to the computer lab and print a fresh clean copy. I bet the woman had better follow the second solution for some reasons. Firstly, a sticky, wrinkled and stained copy of paper is not academically serious, and in some certain occasion it even means disrespect to the professor who will read it carefully. 　　So no matter what it cost,I think the woman should get a clean copy, at least, for the sake of respect. 　　Secondly, fifteen minutes is quite enough for the woman to get a clean copy simply because she could hurry, and talk to the students before her about her situation, and I guess they will understand. After allit's easier explaining to the students before her than explaining to a pretty strict professor. So I think she should take the second solution. (179 words) 　　TPO 50 　　场景：学生选了一门难得化学课，然后需要花很多时间，因此没有时间去写Weekly Editorial。 　　In the conversation, the student is facing a problem that he is taking advanced chemistry course this semesterbutit takes him so much time that he doesn’t have any time left for his weekly editorial on school newspaper. There are two solutions. He could choose either to change the frequency into one editorial every two weeks or to take a less challenging course – basic chemistry. 　　As far as I’m concerned, the former is a better choicesince as a student it is much more important to put one’s focus on academic performance.Not writing editorials on school newspaper or writing less wouldn’t hurt him a lot. The problem is that he is required by the professor to rewrite the lab report for biology class before having a final grade.To solve the problem, the man can rewrite the report either on weekends or during the summer holiday.

　　I prefer the second solution.I believe a qualified report requires more than a weekend to prepare, organize and complete.The shortcoming of lack of material at home can be overcome by borrowing books ahead of time in library.On the other hand, dashing off the report will lose the opportunity of family reunion and ruin the chance of a better score.（ 适合推荐学生长时间完成一个作业任务的话题 ） 　　TPO 42 　　In this conversation, the woman is having a hard time dealing with the problem that the documents she needs to use in herhistory assignmentisn’t available right now, so she can’t work on her paper. And the man offers her two possible solutions. One is to change what she is writing about, that is to choose a topic that doesn’t involve those documents. But the woman has already collected a lot of information and if she changed her topic of the paper, she couldn’t use any of them. The other ispostponeworking on the paper and wait until the documents available again. 　　And if it were my choice, I would choose the former one, because in this way, she can work on the paper right away. Since the documents have to be available in two weeks, which means she has to do a lot of other things in the last week of the school term, and it’ll leave her no time to finish the paper. 　　TPO 18 　　Well, the man's problem is that he finished his paper but forgot to take it with him today. Accordingly, he believes that he could drive home because he lives off campus. The woman suggests that the man talk to the professor and ask for a later copy of his paper by email. 　　Well I guess talking to the professor would be a better solution for the man’s problem for two main reasons. 　　Firstly, the man did get the paper done, and asking for extension wouldn't be unfair for other students. Considering his attitude it's quite understandable to be a few hours late. 　　Second, fetching his paper at the cost of being late for most of the class is definitely not worthy. After all, it's the class that matters to the students not the due date of paper itself. So, I guess talking to the professor about the problem would be a better solution for the man. (157 words)
