　　这个俚语它起源于1955年，很有画面感，也很幽默。就像中文中 “你脑子忘在家里了”这句话的意思，形容那些注意力没在这里的人们。所以千万不要用这句话来形容外出吃午饭，会很尴尬哦。
　　例句：
　　What are you saying? You are out to lunch.
　　你在说什么？你看起来有点神志不清啊。
　　do lunch如果有人跟你说：do lunch，可不一定是让你做午饭哦，然后硬生生错过了一场邀约。do lunch可以表示一起吃午餐，主要用于北美地区，不过不是非常正式的表达。
　　例句：
　　Good! I was just calling to see if you wanted to do lunch tomorrow?
　　很好。我就是想问下明天有时间一起吃午饭吗？
　　plate lunchPlate 可以表示盘子，一盘。那plate lunch表示一盘午餐吗？其实它表示份饭，就是将菜饭装在一个盘子里，瞬间想到了盖浇饭有木有？
　　例句：

　　Plate lunch就是将各种菜肴盛在一个盘子里的份饭。
　　lose/lost one s lunch这个习语从字面意思可以理解为失去午餐，延伸意思是：呕吐，没胃口。
　　例句：

　　我差点吐了。
　　dressed up like a dog s dinnerdressed up我们都知道时打扮的意思，不过这里的打扮可不是为了狗的晚餐，它是形容一个人打扮的花枝招展。
　　例句：
　　She was dressed up like a dog s dinner just to go to the cinema.
　　仅仅是去看电影，她也穿得这般花哨。
　　a dog s breakfast/dinner当别人跟你说：a dog s breakfast ，也不要单纯的以为是在说狗的早餐，因为他可能是在说乱的跟狗窝似的，在英式口语中表示乱七八糟；一团糟，但并不是正式的口语表达。
